When it hits the fan. My Actifit Diary: March 30 2026

in Actifit4 days ago

It's on again. I received note of Lily's mom having taken her away again. Not letting anyone know, just disappearing. It's sad, but it seemed to be inevitable.

So today is started on the paperwork. Get a police report. Get the lawyer up to speed. And then we'll see. It'll take time and the only hope is that it won't take too much. But the relationship I built with Lily over the years, especially the last two, is stable now, and very strong. She loves both her parents equally and knows that I'm the one that will always fight for exactly that.

It's still hard. Though I'm quite surprised by how prepared I am. How calm. How well I'm taking it. I've been preparing for this for a long time, but one never knows if it works until it's tested. It's being tested right now. I'm happy with the results so far.

I worked a little. Went to the gym. Had a nap. Talked to my family. Organized. Now I'm lying in bed watching a little shows before hopefully sleeping some more.

Have a good night!

Sounds like you are a very good parent my friend!😄
I hope everything works out........
Have a restful evening nice to read your @actifit post!!😄

I try my very, very best. A part of me is now like "oh, great, a vacation while I get all the paperwork done to get full custody when they come back." Being a single full time parent is exhausting. At least I have a very well developed social network and the economic resources. The mom doesn't. Another point for them most like coming back.

It's hard enough with two parents raising kids, being a single parent, I can see where it would definitely be exhausting but very well worth it my friend!😍

It is absolutely worth it! I enjoy it very much.

Excellent to hear my friend!!!👍🤗

Your situation is never an easy one. I presume that you have joint custody?

Being calm, even when it seems like you should be anything but-well that's probably the best way to handle it.

Hopefully, the authorities will get it all straightened out-and soon for everyone involved, but also especially for Lily!

Take care!

Yeah, we had joint custody. In Ecuador, laws are incredibly favorable towards the mother, so I never had a chance to get full custody despite many missteps from the mother's side. Mothers are favored for good reason, a lot of fathers don't take their responsibilities seriously. I wrote a post about that from my main account:

It's the 5th time now that she takes her out of the country without my permission, so illegally. She usually comes back. Once she stayed away 3 months before the money ran out, when Lily was 6 months old. I usually left it be, and focused on building the relationship with Lily. As mentioned, that worked out. Which the mom doesn't like, she rather wants Lily all for herself, as if it were her emotional support dog.

I could write a whole psychological analysis on the topic. Things I did wrong (most of which I corrected and never repeated) included. Maybe I will, and then sell it as a soap opera.

Thanks for stopping by and your kind words.

You are most welcome! I hope she doesn't keep her away long this time. It seems to me that the law should also prevent, or make it a crime, for her to just up and leave the country like this. A sad situation all around. Best wishes on that front. !LADY

Yeah, law here absolutely has its limits.
