The feeling of finally being able to go on vacation, even a small one, is something different. Quite motivating. I got up early, fed the cat and went to the gym for a good, but not excessive leg work out. I don’t want my legs to be sore when I have to drive 90min through steep and curvy mountain roads. Ellie dropped by to say goodbye, which was great as always. I made her coffee, and we had a good time before she went to a doctors appointment and I went to organize the last outstanding errands.

The drive was incredibly relaxed. On a Tuesday, that road is not travelled at all it seems. I had 2 trucks and one very slow cab in front of me, which I could bypass easily. And maybe 2 trucks, 1 car and 1 bus coming up the mountain.

I listened to Kierkegaard on the way, hence a post that I wrote in the evening. A friend had me brought onto that, and it’s a different vibe to drive listening to philosophy than it is with music. A lot more relaxed.

I arrived at my favorite place and lunch was almost ready. Nobody else was there, so Belén had cooked for me, her husband and herself. She has many allergies herself, so she understands how difficult it is to find the right food, and made an incredible lentil dish with millet, suitable for all of us. That’s why I love booking a cabin inner week – I get so much special treatment.

I spent the rest of the day mainly with myself. At the water, in the water, walking around, taking pictures, and then writing and organizing my Splinterland assets.

In the evening I went up to Belén’s house, where they were singing karaoke and drinking and smoking. I had a beer, and we got into some interesting discussions. Since I was fired up on Kierkegaard, I was able to contribute a thought or three.
That was yesterday. Thank you for reading, have a great day!
