Today there was no long escape into the forest. No reflective solo trek by the canal during lunch. Just three short walks, clocking in a total of a little over 5km. But this time, I wasn’t walking alone. I was walking with my son—part of his back rehab routine. And honestly? That 5km felt like a marathon-sized win.
Every step meant progress. Every pause, a little more resilience.
He’s been slowly rebuilding, and now we’re not just moving forward, we’re walking it together.
The sunrise gifted us that icy, golden glow you only get in winter, bouncing off the frozen canal like nature’s own encouragement. And by nightfall, the silence wrapped everything in soft purple shadows and reflections. No dramatic milestones, no record-breaking steps. Just recovery, quietly reflected in the water.
