Barefoot Miles and Wheelchair Wins

in Actifit2 hours ago

Two walks today. Same sun, completely different missions.

The photos are all from my solo 5km photowalk. Canal light flashing like it’s trying to win awards, lock gates and steel lines cutting through the frame, that narrow wooden bridge tucked into the trees. Barefoot shoes back in action after the temperature drop, which basically means my calves spent the first kilometer questioning my life choices. Cold ground, zero cushioning, maximum honesty.

It always takes a minute to readjust. Feet relearning. Stride recalibrating. But once it clicks, it feels sharp. Intentional. Every step counts because you feel every step.

Second walk was shorter, about 1.5km, and with my daughter. Slower pace, different focus. She pushed herself most of the way, I only took over for part of the trip back home. Which, honestly, is the whole point. More outside time. More independence. More strength building quietly in the background.

Two very different efforts. One chasing light and angles. One building capacity, hers not mine.

Over 10k steps total. Sun on my face. Calves mildly offended. Dad mode activated.

And no, I did not attempt a wheelchair obstacle course over that tiny wooden bridge. I value my life.
