Our destination for a walk today was a very pleasant lake, which has been lovingly converted from an old sand quary. It was our second visit here, and there are many improvements since we last visited some years ago!

Looking back towards the car park here at Buckland Park Lake as we set out on the long walk around the perimeter path.

It has been very hot by UK standards at 30°C today. We are in the midst of a heatwave right now, which is to stay for the weekend at least.

The perimeter path is a good firm stony track, which is actually capable of taking average vehicles. There are plenty of side paths to explore, too. The owners have done a great job of making this place a very pleasant experience to walk around.

There is, of course, a full wild bird population, but being a large lake, it was only possible to see them in the distance. Not quite the same as our local small lakes where the geese walk around your feet! 😆 I did spot some large fish close to the bank at one point, but I have no idea what they were.

All in all, it was a good experience. We enjoyed a bacon roll and a drink from the refreshments cabin after our exercise, which was most welcome.
