The fine weather continues and gives me an opportunity tomorrow to make the most of it and get out again for a nice mountain bike ride!
This summer has been very warm and dry. It makes a change as summers here in the UK can be a very mixed bag. I think I can speak for Wales and particularly Scotland when I say that they have had a very mixed bag of wet weather!
This, of course, is all caused by the jet stream. A powerful high altitude system of winds that drive our weather. If it cuts across the UK as of late, we get this divide between dry in the south and wet in the north.
This can be reversed which makes it wet in the south and dry in the north. This time where I live in the south, it has been very good practically all summer.
