It's fungi time again! That time of year when all these strange looking growths appear on everything in the garden and woods. Colours like orange, brown, white, even red! They can be a whole carpet, a ring shape, or just a single growth. I find them fascinating.
It is just a coincidence that they grow in autumn when Halloween is celebrated, but that kind of fits with their appearance, being spooky and slimey! 😈💀👻
Some years ago, I came across a large patch of Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric. The red one with white spots. This, of course, is featured a lot in fairy tales and looks magical. I must look out for it over the next few weeks on my travels through wonderland! 🍄
