
The calm before the storm! Quite literally, as we have storm Benjamin bearing down on the UK. With winds of 75 mph it will be a damaging storm.
This reminds me of autumn 1987.  Weather forecasts reported a relatively benign low pressure area passing over the southeast,  but no warnings of high winds or possible damage over night. The following morning saw widespread damage to property and thousands of trees down. People were calling it a hurricane! 🤣 There was anger at the weather centre over the lack of information and warnings.
