The pleasant village of Hartfield in East Sussex was our destination today. A small village which hosts the popular Pooh Corner shop of Whinnie the Pooh fame.
After browsing the shop, something we do once in a while, we enjoyed a nice meal in the pub/restaurant just a few yards further down the narrow main street.
During our stay, I noticed a totem with the village name at the top. Underneath were two plaques. Both plaques were representing prizes won by the village a number of decades ago!

In 1991 & 1992, Hartfield village won 'Best kept small village' and 'Best kept village in all Sussex' respectively. Many years have now passed since then but it is good to see these plaques are still proudly displayed and kept in good condition too!
