The cherry blossom is fantastic this year. My photos show a good example of the spring display. They have such a delicate pink colour, and masses of individual flowers on each branch head, giving a powder puff effect when looked at from a distance.
It is a shame that most of the flowers dont develop into cherries but I suppose that is why the tree produces so many. The more the better to help ensure that a few do eventually go on to produce the kernels that could grow into young cherry trees.
