On my travels around town this spring, I noticed another unusual tree. The katkins on this one are very long and pink! A marvellous sight from a distance as the whole tree looks like a huge candyfloss stand. 😆.
I have no idea what type of tree it is but this area of the country does seem to have a rich variety of plants as there is a great history of large mansions with huge landscaping and botanical gardens which now form part of our towns parks. The then landowners introduced many new varieties of plants to the area.
