This current heat wave is great but it brings issues such as drought. The lakes and reservoirs are now getting low. Some areas of the UK have issued hose pipe bans already!
Ifield Mill Pond this morning looked really nice in the warm sunshine before the heat 🥵.
I'm glad to report that the cygnets are doing very well and looking strong.
We couldn't see them at first but as we walked across the boardwalk, they all appeared swimming across the lake. So we hurried after them and watched as they stopped and preend themselves in a shady area.
I also took a nice photo of a heron fishing at the back of the lake. It seemed to ignore our presence while obviously concentrating hard on looking for fish. They are normally very timid of humans, so I was very surprised to get such close up photos.
