We are lucky to have so many different places for our children to see wildlife. As well as the many public parks, there are nature centres dedicated to looking after injured wild animals and returning them to the wild when ready.
The British Wildlife Centre is just such a place within 20 minutes drive frim our town.

They have endangered red squirrels and muntjac deer here. A few pairs of foxes too. These two were just enjoying the warm sunshine.

Something that I noticed in a different lake a few days ago was fish struggling in the heat to get oxygen and again, I found the same thing with the fish here. They were at the surface gulping the top layer of water for every scrap of disolved oxygen!

A very sad thing to watch.
There were many more animals here, such as rats, mice, snakes and a large collection of owls of different species.
The centre also has a very good tea room and shop as well which is something we always make good use of 😀.
