It was Race for Life day in Tilgate Park today. Some of my family members were running and walking the course over 5k.
I arranged to meet them on my mountain bike which gave me a good reason to get in a nice ride from home to the park.

I had one problem though. As I was about to leave, I discovered that the front wheel had a puncture! Luckily, I had a spare inner tube to quickly replace the punctured one.
With that done I set off for the park.
It was busy, and my next problem was locating my family. Having mobile phones is a great way to quickly locate someone. One of the more positive uses. They can be a nuisance! 🤣

As they set off on their walk/run I rode part of the course ahead and stopped at various places to cheer them on!
My GPS tracking shows the routes I took. I know these woods so well now it was easy to keep ahead of them by short cutting the course.

The weather was cooler than of late. At about 24°, it felt just right for this event.

I covered about ten miles in total, including the journey to and from the park, which means about six or seven miles of it was just riding around the woods in between the marked course. Great fun indeed! 😁
