Today began at church; awesome time of worship and sermon on the Word! 🙏😇
Once home, there were a few things needing to be done, but then afterwards, we set out to what I still call ‘Cash-N-Carry’. I needed some cocoa for my mochas I make and picked up some paper cups and lids for them along with some coffee syrups. We were done and heading for Winco, when we passed by a Bellingham City Park-Squalicum Creek, I’d mentioned that we should check out someday. Someday turned into today. Upon getting out of the car, the first pic is pretty much what you see. It’s a beautiful setting but although there’s no smell, I will say the water was a murky shade of brown/grey. Some folks were fishing, but I’m not sure I’d eat anything caught there! 😳
We headed up one trail that said it was a mile to Cornwall Memorial park. First thing we came upon was this bridge.
It spanned over a small creek that fed into the lake. I’m not sure exactly what government agency mandated putting old tree stump with partial trunks in the water in the county, but this stream had them. I will say that this particular stream’s use was more logical than some I’ve seen where it looks like they just threw a bunch of tree debris into the streams that created stagnant pools of water. These things are supposed to be fish ladders, but with the exception of what I saw today, seem mostly like fish deterrents. Anyway on the bridge I shot this pick between the iron rails. The ‘tree’ you see in the water is in this case, the reflection of a tree spanning the water. It has a unique look.
Further on down the trail, it seemed mostly like you were walking a dirt road. It was flat and not very interesting.
The funny thing is, I felt very much like we should not continue down this road. This park a few years back was a huge and dangerous homeless camp. I am unsure how the city removed the camp, but it’s been gone for 2-3 years. This stretch of trail was somewhat isolated and I just felt we should not continue on. We turned around and took another short branch to the canoe launch. See @silvertop’s post for an interesting encounter with someone we would not ever have expected to see.
While a pretty area at the beginning of this park, I suspect our curiosity has been sated.
I hope your day has been wonderful! That’s it for me. Take care always and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌎🙏

NKJV Acts 2:1-4
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
