We got up this morning-me with a Benadryl hangover. I’d had an allergic reaction to something last night and out of desperation, took just one capsule. It made me feel drunk and unsteady last night and then dizzy this morning. I don’t think I’ll be taking that anymore!
I had some computer work to do as did @silvertop, so when we were both at a stopping point, I made a list of Walmart items and Dollar Tree items and we set out.
It was a partly sunny day with mild temperatures. They originally called for rain, but as it is with most of our forecasts, it didn’t happen. Fronts often stall out off the coast and can take 2-3 days to finally blow in. For now, it looks like tomorrow will be the rainy day.
Check out the fall color in this parking lot! They planted the right trees and shrubs for the most colorful impact!
We stopped at Starbucks for coffees and pastries. I had enough ‘stars’ to get it all for free! 😁😎👍 Then a stop by the pumpkin stand to pick out a couple more for my collection and then home.
We headed up the road to check out the dredging of the pond. I found a mama deer and her two babies there.
I was concerned they might try to get to the little water left and get stuck in the mire.
Fortunately, they moved on.
We headed back home and in coming to where the clear cut begins, found them there.
It was as if they were saying ‘first they take the water and now someone has taken the forest!’ The water will be back soon but the forest will take much longer. 😢
I really dislike what was done with the forest. It’s all dirt now and piles of debris. Come spring, the area will begin regrowing, but our area is known for the blackberries taking over and it quite likely will become a huge briar patch.
