Hey everybody! Today was the day I worked the fireworks stand for our church. That little squirrel is hiding in the log as he’s afraid…..very afraid! 🙀
This 18’+ trailer is parked at the fairgrounds in Lynden, Washington as it is every year. The sale is to raise money for the youth program at the church and is the biggest fundraiser for the year!
In mine and @silvertop’s past life in Ohio-we were somewhat masters of fireworks. There was one year most of our stuff were 250 footers or 125 footers! They were definitely professional grade, and we loved every minute of it!
Fast forward to Washington state and our property. Two of the many trees located on our property we dated were mere seedlings when Christopher Columbus landed in America! Can you say a 250’ + Roman candle should that tree go up in flames? 😳 Too many cedar and fir trees to shoot off fireworks here! Alas, our pyro days were over! 😔
Fireworks have changed. They still have the big boys but just what is a Robo Bat or a Pooping Dog anyway?!

That’s Amanda there in the picture. We work two volunteers at a time and the gal who was to work with me was a no show. Not sure why-she confirmed last night. I just hope everything is okay with her. Amanda hung out for an hour or so, but had just worked her own 2 hour stint as I arrived.
Eventually she got to go leaving me mostly on my own. Not a real problem but when a customer said they wanted something specific, I’d have to ask them to point it out as I generally didn’t know what they were talking about, lol! It all worked out and I made some nice sales. At 4 PM, my replacement showed up and I was free to go.
I understand they still need shift workers on Saturday. Not sure if I’m going to do that as I’ve got some things that need doing then. We’ll see.
Here’s Cot sleeping before the upcoming fireworks storm this weekend. He does not like it! Our neighbor, despite living in a cedar and fir tree forest is having a party which we’ve been told will be ‘Bigger and better’ than last year’s. We weren’t too happy then; I doubt we will be happy about it this year. It would be too late should we need the fire department!
