This is true, but unfortunately around here because of the rain, the huge pines and maples have shallow root systems which means during a wind storm, they are likely to fall. Fortunately, generally, nobody gets hurt, but I have heard of folks being killed when the tree falls on the house or the vehicle they are in.
It makes you think twice, that's for sure!
