Hi, there! How are you? I hope that you are doing great. Welcome to my post. It's the actifit post number 1290. It's also the Alive and Thriving report on Monday, July 28, 2025
There is a group of people who, when they suffer from neck pain, think their BP is high. They either eat something sour (it's a thought in the general population that eating something sour, e.g., tamarind, would reduce BP) or they eat a BP-lowering medicine. They are wrong in most cases. Muscle spasm is the most common cause of non-traumatic neck pain. High blood pressure is a less common cause of neck pain.
But, sometimes, from their experience, some people can guess the cause of their problem. For example, a patient with a known history of lipid disorders recently visited me. He was suffering from dizziness and heaviness in his head. His BP and other vitals were normal. He was confident that his blood lipids might have been high. Whenever he feels a similar kind of problem, his blood lipids are found to be high. I did the test and he was right. His blood lipids were indeed quite high!
Another diabetic patient came with lower limb pain and numbness. One of the complications of long-standing, uncontrolled diabetes is peripheral nephropathy, which could lead to numbness in the feet. When I told him that his blood sugar might be uncontrolled. He insisted his blood sugar was normal. When I checked it, it was indeed normal!
Interesting observation!!
Monday was another easy day at work when I consulted 19 patents in my chamber. There was no emergency case! Hence, it wasn't a busy day. I could study a bit. I also worked online from the office desktop :) In the visa medical section, I examined some people who came for a fitness test.
At home, I couldn't walk on the treadmill. It was 4 days in a row without a walk. However, I managed to make over 9k steps. All the steps were made from the casual walks inside the clinic, and walking between my home, the clinic, and the mosques. I had a short afternoon nap as well.
Okay. That's all for today. Alhamdulillah, I am alive, healthy, and thriving. How about you?
