Our neighbor who passed away 3 years ago this December, had a forest of trails just loaded with gnomes! It was quite the sight! It's possible her husband left them out, but I haven't walked her trails since before she passed. I can't go into a store and see a gnome and not think of her. She was a very sweet lady!
