It was a huge privilege to get to meet the youngest volunteers of the month who came from Sunway College to @gtpjfoodbank for their project about social welfare in Malaysia.
All of these kids are an average of 18 years old, and they already have thoughtful ideas to understand the economics and to know which are the families that truly live in the slumps, needing help.
Sometimes we Gen-Xers are under estimating the kids, the Gen-Z who though doesn't take instructions easily, but still, there’s a willingness to "experience" everything hands-on.
These are the good ones who do not mind getting their hands dirty.
Actually, most kids are willing to do so. I remembered when I was a teen, I didn't have any reserves from helping out and getting out in the field. Sweaty and tired, it has always been fulfilling.

Only when we started working and exposed to all the "perks" of enjoyment we easily strayed and our innocence robbed.
I pray that these kiddos will keep this spirit in them. They could be future lawyers, economist, charted accountants, and data analyst in this mix. I pray that their hearts will remain pure because they are the future of Malaysia.
In the end, instead of treating them lunch, they also topped up a treat for us.
Ah.... kids will always be kids. 🤣
But we are very touched and blessed that they have the heart to treat us. 🥰❤️
(We don't mind pampered with fries once a while after heavy labour, haha)
