It is officially Thursday, May 7, 2026, and my American journey continues to surprise me in the best ways possible. While I didn't quite reach the 10k mark today, finishing with 8,475 steps feels like a win, especially because today was more about the quality of the journey and the connections I’m making within the Hive community.
A Small World Moment
One of the highlights of my day wasn't just the walk itself, but a fascinating interaction I had on my last post. I met a fellow user, @terganftp, who pointed out a hilarious coincidence I just moved from London to North America, and in just a few days, they are heading from North America to London!
It truly is a small world. We’re basically swapping continents! As someone who just made that trip, I was happy to share some "London survival tips" (like always carrying a jacket and wearing the most comfortable shoes possible). This is exactly what Actifit and Hive are all about beyond the numbers and the rewards, it’s the friendships and the global stories that make every step more interesting.

Today’s Scenic Route
The weather in Old Bridge remains spectacular. Today’s walk took me past some beautiful local homes. I had to stop and take a photo of one particularly charming house (as seen in my post). With the perfectly cut green grass, the blooming bushes, and the American flag waving proudly in the yard, it felt like a classic scene from a movie.
There is a sense of pride and order in these neighborhoods that makes walking very therapeutic. I spent most of my active time today between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, soaking up the afternoon sun. Even though I was a bit more relaxed today, those 8k steps still represent a good few miles of movement and fresh air.

Reflection
Today taught me that consistency doesn't always have to mean hitting your maximum target every single day. Sometimes, it’s okay to take a slightly shorter route if it means you have more time to engage with your new friends and appreciate the scenery of a new country.
Tomorrow is Friday, and I’m aiming to get back into the 10k club to finish the work week strong!
