Hey Actifitters,
Once again yesterday was divided into several very distinct parts. First, there was the usual, with Kaia and Le Chat hanging out in the yard.
Then we quickly went to the small forest behind the front yard.
That's a lot more space to explore and for Kaia and Le Chat's cute moments.
The sun was out, so even if we were getting short on time, we added a little distance in the neighborhood.
But the highlight of the day came later when we went to Detroit for the Deftones concert. I've seen them live at least 4 times and they always rock! As you can see from the cover photo, Comerica Park and its tigers are ready for the home opener this Friday. But like I said, we weren't there for baseball, but for live music at Little Caesar Arena. After we grabbed a bite at Hockeytown Cafe, we arrived just in time for the second opening band The Mars Volta. They're good, but they really changed their style since they split from At The Drive In, and I prefer their old tunes. Their show was okay, and without any surprise they played their entire upcoming album. But almost zero interaction with the audience, it was kinda weird. They showed up, played, and left!
Of course, like me, most people were waiting for the Deftones. And here they were!
And it was a great show! No surprise either, they played the exact same set they've been playing on all dates for the current tour. A great mix of old stuff and newer tunes.
Unfortunately our seats weren't the best and a little behind the main speakers, making the sound a little weird. I also wished I could be in the pit with some decent moshing and crowd surfing. But even then, so much energy, and so many great songs. Chino Moreno at his best, and the very distinct Deftones sound, just perfect!
Well, that was another very well balanced day, with some very loud heavy music as a bonus, what else do we need?? Maybe a few more steps because I missed the bar for #poprzeczka competition for the third time and I'm out for the March session.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
