Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday started when a big thunderstorm woke us up early... in the afternoon... after less than 3 hours of sleep. I really gotta stop going to bed after most people are already awake! Anyways, after the storm, it was muggier than ever, like hot soup! Everybody wanted to be like Le Chat who just stayed lazy under the BBQ cover. I guess she likes this spot for some reason.
I prefer inside with the A/C! But this time, I also had lots to do on the house cleaning front and other not fun stuff. Really not fun! Of course, we couldn't skip entirely our daily walk. As soon as we got out of the house, we faced this deer across the street.
I was worried Kaia would chase it. It's obviously much more tempting than the rabbit from the day before. But she didn't even notice it! She just wanted to explore behind the front yard, probably because she knows it's pretty much the only way to get Le Chat out of her laziness!
And indeed she joined in the fun! On the photo where she's looking up, it's just a plane. That always worries her.
It was so humid I actually didn't feel like walking much more but we did head towards the forest. We walked just in front of that deer that was still there. This time Kaia saw it but she was on-leash luckily.
Beautiful antlers!
The forecast said we still had lots of time before the next storm, but when we got near the forest, I wasn't so sure: loud thunder in the vicinity and dark clouds approaching...
But it did hold and we could enjoy a quick loop in the forest.
Like I said many times, Kaia hates this weather even more than I do, but she couldn't resist a little climbing.
At one of the intersections, she clearly wanted to take the shortest route.
But it was a Saturday and I thought we could fight the mosquitoes a little longer.
She was slow to follow but she eventually did. Can you see her ear down on the bottom photo? She constantly has to shake her ears and head because of these damn mosquitoes!
But when we started on the way back, she quickly took the lead.
I wasn't really planning another walk, but the power suddenly went down in the late afternoon (I know now it was due to wind damage). So once it became a bit dark in the house to do any useful work, we just started another walk in the neighborhood to enjoy the last moments of daylight. From afar, I could see the clouds would be a beautiful sight. And it was!
A little orange, a little pink, just awesome!
And again, reflections as bonus.
When we came back, the power was still out, but luckily it didn't take too long to fix, it was back before 11pm. So many things we take for granted, but we can't do any of them without power!
Finally a good step count after a few days a bit lower. Let's see if we can repeat on Sunday.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
