Hey Actifitters,
Obviously it's just the title of the famous Garbage song, as yesterday was a great sunny day.
Le Chat wanted to hang out with Kaia but also wanted to rest, so she went back and forth between both activities. Look at that face...
We didn't have as much time as usual, so we only went for a short walk near the small forest behind the front yard and the neighborhood.
But walking along the edge of the forest, we noticed new colors again, so in spite of my fear of yellowjackets still very present, we went deeper inside the forest. And indeed, there are a few fall colors in there. Like I already said, I'm pretty sure it's early compared to other years.
But the highlight of the day of course was the Garbage concert in Detroit. We took the opportunity to stop by the Fox Theater to get tickets for a couple upcoming shows, and walk in the city for a little while. Good timing for the sunset colors in the cloudy sky. I'll use this photo for this week's Around The World contest:
Even after grabbing a bite and a few drinks, we arrived just in time for the opening band: Starcrawler. I had listened to a few of their songs the week before, and I hadn't big expectations. But it was much better than I thought it'd be, much more punkish and so much energy. Still not what I would listen to often, but a good warm up for the main course.
By the way, it was in a great venue: the Masonic Jack White Theatre. It used to be called Cathedral Theatre at the Masonic Theatre and when you see it, you quickly understand why. We already went to the Masonic Temple Theater main room, but first time in this one. Pretty cool, on the small side, hence not far from the stage even on the balcony where we were.
And finally, Garbage arrived!
We already saw them a couple years ago, but it was very different in a outdoor venue and a much bigger stage. Equally good though.
Always been a big fan of Shirley Manson and once again she didn't disappoint with her singing of course, stage presence and a few interesting and/or funny chats between songs.
In total, about 1 hour and 45 minutes for a great show that they concluded with two 'crowd-pleasers': Stupid Girl and Only Happy when it rains.
We haven't attended that many shows this year, in particular not a single outdoor show (and the season is almost over), so it was really cool to be there. And we have a few other ones lined up, yay!!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
