Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was all about the half marathon. We had planned a few visits and light hikes in the morning, but we really ended up doing not much before the race. My friends were tired and I didn't want to waste energy before running. So anyways, fast forward to the afternoon when we headed to the start line. Once again, I don't have a whole lot of photos, because I don't carry my main phone when running and of course I refuse photos of myself. After registration, we waited for the sun to come down and the moon to rise.

The light is changing...

And here we go, the sun is almost down, runners started to head to the start and line up.

Pretty nice view for the start of a race.

As for the race itself, that was another tough one. When I checked photos of previous years, I could see people with hats and gloves. I thought the night in the desert in November would be cool, and they usually are but not this time! Still 80F or 27C at the start... That and the sandy uneven terrain made it quite difficult. But in spite of this and the complete lack of training, my time was actually 2 minutes faster than the Detroit half marathon two weeks before. Still above 2 hours, but not so bad. And I'm glad it's done!

Now we have a couple more days to enjoy the area with hiking mostly. It's my first time in Joshua Tree National Park, so it should be fun.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
