Hey Actifitters,
Technically it's not Caturday yet here, but less than one hour before it is. And since we saw lots of Le Chat yesterday, that made sense to turn this report into Caturday. With the heat reaching its dangerous peak, we tried to avoid the outdoors again, but Le Chat was there to show us it was okay to hang out for a while.
Kaia even tried to play with her.
But Le Chat just went a little further and continued saving her energy...
When we didn't know where she was, it usually meant she was below the deck, trying to stay cool. Apparently spider webs don't bother her too much.
I really don't blame her for trying because it stayed very hot. Even late afternoon, in the shade, the thermometer still showed around 96F or 36C, and that of course doesn't account for humidity.
Just before nighttime, we went for our short daily walk anyways.
Obviously Kaia is also no fan of this heat. I remember her brother Genepi, who had long hair, it was even worse for him in Summer. But Kaia wants to spend time in the forest, so we do suffer through the heat and mosquitoes.
We finished in the neighborhood though, slightly less mosquitoes. And when it gets dark, it's safer for Kaia's paws. She's already injured, we don't want her to get burned paws on top.
And that was it, at least a couple more days with extreme heat. I know people living in hot countries must think we are weak, but well, let's invite them here in winter and we'll see how weak we are 🤪
