
I spotted this young goanna crossing the trial I was running. We seem to see more of them when it is really hot like now. I suppose, like most animals, they are on the move early and late afternoon to escape the hot mid day sun.

Even though it was small, it didn't seem to have any problem climbing quickly and smoothly up to a branch out of sight.

Those claws are just so impressive.
