My Actifit Report Card: March 26 2026

in Actifityesterday

My entry into bucipuci's around the world challenge 46/6 is a photo I took yesterday on the last day of our house sitting holiday.

It is of the ship wreck at Woolgoolga Beach, New South Wales, Australia. The last time we were here, his 1893 wooden ship wreck was fully exposed. This time, I almost missed it. I suppose it won't be long before it is completely gone.

Cool. Is there a backstory to the ship wreck?

I wrote a post about it a few years ago

In the evening we walked to Woolgoolga creek and Lake and we amazed to the this old ship wreck. Apparently it has only been uncovered again in the past few years. I thought it was a Viking ship but it was only a 128 year old, 39 metre build in Canada sailing ship called "Buster". It busted its anchor chain in a storm while at the old Woolgoolga jetty carrying a load of timber to New Zealand way back in the 1890s.

Much appreciated. Love those little pieces of history.

I did not realise how many shipwrecks there actually are around the coast line
