The lack of sunlight can be truly overwhelming.
In my case, the mountains add an extra challenge. Even though sunset is officially around 3:45 PM, the sun disappears behind Mount Skrzyczne already at about 2:30 PM. From that moment on, we live in the shade until dusk.
Winter in the mountains has its own mood and beauty, but the short days and early loss of sunlight can really weigh on you — especially when every ray of sunshine matters.
The weather situation here is very similar — the firewood is stacked and ready, yet temperatures remain above freezing and there’s hardly any snow. Winter seems hesitant to fully arrive.
