One of the reasons for that is that I used to publish posts (as well as many comments) while the price of HIVE was only about $0.10 each, so each incoming curation vote of the same value in HBD grants more Hive Power than when the price of HIVE was significantly higher. 🤯🤓

You can earn more USD in the form of Hive Power when the price of the HIVE token is high, not necessarily that you earn more of the HIVE token itself. 💸🤯😅

Some Hive users would say "1 HIVE = 1 HIVE" though, which means that no matter what the price of the HIVE token is, every HIVE token earned or bought is worth the time, effort, and/or money !INDEED. 😅

Most (existing) Hive users (especially those with huge amounts of Hive Power) would like to see the price of the HIVE token rise. 😎 Some Hive users are supportive of the token so much that they decided not to Power Down any amount of Hive Power, and if they ever need or want to withdraw tokens, they simply take them from HBD from author rewards, HIVE from HP delegation shares, or #HiveEngine tokens. 🤓😏
