Over twenty-two thousand steps yesterday. Today, I have a pain in my left heel, so I will have to cut down on walking the next couple of weeks.
This is probably a cumulative effect of much higher step numbers I have been doing the last few months.
I thought walking was one of the safest forms of exercise, but I guess it is possible to overdo it even with walking when you are closing in on the big fifty years old.
This means I will have to focus more on weight lifting workouts and managing weight through a more diet based approach.
I love sweet stuff, and that would be the first stuff to cut down on. That is too bad as I really love sweets with my tea.
My wife has great discipline when it comes to food intake and sweet stuff, so I will have to follow her example.
There is a Costco cherry pie in our kitchen, which I really like once I finish the last big slice of it. I will try to limit my sweet stuff intake to once or twice per day.
By the way, pictures in this post are from one of my walks around downtown Seattle in the recent past.
We have not been to Seattle in a few months now, I think it is time for us to have a date in Seattle and pick up some Georgian food or go for some oysters on the waterfront.
That doesn't exactly sound like a strict diet, but as long as I stay away from the sweet stuff and limit my portions, I should be totally fine.
In fact, we just had a discussion with my wife that at our age, I should be happy with keeping the weight stable.
I'm not sure that I agree with this, but my body has definitely been sending me signals over the last couple of years that I am no longer in my thirties...
It is hard to accept as I feel the same, and I can do the workouts just like in the past, but sometimes I get injured.
That is the difference between early thirties and late forties. I understand that, but it is really hard to accept.
I will have to work on that and listen more to my wife. She is a really wise woman despite being a couple of years younger than me.
