Another good steps day today. I went to a dentist in Seattle who happens to be my brother in law. It was my regular six months cleaning appointment, and he checked everything out, and it is all pretty much good, except one of my old fillings is starting to fall apart and needs to be replaced before the end of the year.
In Seattle, around his office, everything is completely dug up, and construction is everywhere. It was challenging finding parking, and the place I parked at initially was a tow away place, so I had to come back and repark.
We also went for a nice walk with my wife around our neighborhood. Today was a bit cooler, so it was very nice to walk around. This weather is not going to last, and in a few days, we are forecast to go back to eighties and nineties.
Tomorrow, we have an all hands meeting in Seattle, so I will be driving to Seattle and leaving my computer at home and setting my out of office notifications on since I will be collaborating in the office and will not be able to answer any of my clients or colleagues.
I will also take advantage of this back to office day to bring our car to the dealership for service. It needs an annual oil change, and our breaks are very squeaky, so they will hopefully fix this as well.
We have an oil service contract, so that should be covered, and we also have extended bumper to bumper warranty, but I doubt that it will cover them fixing squeaky breaks.
I will also take advantage of this back to office day to work out in our building gym. There is a nice variety of weight lifting machines, and I noticed last time that they worked differently my muscles and I was sore in completely different places than after my usual workout in my garage home gym.
The only bad thing about it is that I will have to fight the traffic to Seattle and back. That is somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half each way.
Our daughter asked me to bring some Georgian food as soon as she heard that I am going back to the office in Seattle tomorrow. So I will be picking up the Georgian boats from the Skalka restaurant in Seattle tomorrow.
Despite my negative predisposition to the whole Return To Office initiative after five years of remote work 100% of the time I am actually looking forward to all the stuff I have planned to do in Seattle.
I can't believe that it is almost middle of July already, soon the Seattle summer is going to be over. We have about a month or two of summer weather left.
My tomatoe plants are getting big and have lots of green tomatoes on the vine so I should take some pictures and post an update.
I already posted my first Splinterlands post for this week and have one more to do, so I should be able to fit in a gardening post this week.
I was surprised when I ran my calculations on Yaba Pickle card, turns out it is a very profitable setup especially for those with two million staked SPS.
You can read the details in my Splinterlands post...
Also the end of the season in Splinterlands is just a few days away. I have been watching SPS earnings in the Wild League and they seem to be higher. Probably less people are purchasing the Wild Pass so the SPS rewards pool is split among less players.
All images in this post are from our recent family trip to Whidbey Island.
