Today was a great day. After waking up, I went to the store to buy food for the week. Around three hundred dollars later, I had four paper bags worth of food that should last us for about a week.
After coming back home, we hung out with my wife, and then our son was about to come over, so I ordered us a couple of pizzas from his new favorite pizza place. He used to say that his favorite pizza was Domino's, and now he likes Papa Jones pizza the best.
I much prefer Zeeks Pizza and we had bought it for him before, but he didn't like it. Kids are like that, and sometimes, the better quality food gets rejected.
I brought the works pizza for me and him and vegetarian custom pizza for my wife. At least Papa John pizza is better than Domino's.
After we had pizza, we had talked for a little while and then went for our weight lifting workout.
Then we did some stuff around the house, I did some work on my tomatoes inserting new support sticks, and we had a nice fire in the evening.
After the fire died down, we used the hot coals to cook potatoes and corn, which we wrapped in foil. For some reason, it all tastes better when we cook it over the coals.
There is something very primal when you watch the fire. The flames reach high into the air, and you feel the warmth of the fire.
My wife played classical music from her phone, and we listened to the Moonlight Sonata, Swan Lake, and many other classical pieces.
It makes you think of life and how our time on this earth is burning away... Soon, we also will turn into the ashes...
While we are here, we should focus on what is important to us. For me, it is my family, people that are in my life every day. I should try to focus on this and not get distracted by the little things that are not perfect.
I wonder why we tend to get upset about the little things and miss the big picture...
At the end of the day, "All we are is dust in the wind..."
On a different note, Splinterlands end of the season is coming up, and I am getting close to maxing out my legendary reward cards. I wonder if I will be able to max them out before the new reward cards come out.
Tomato plants are getting close to being ready to harvest. There is nothing better than homegrown tomatoes. We have one early girl Tomato that should be ready to eat in a couple of days with more tomatoes coming in about two to three weeks.
I am going to do a separate post on the progress of my tomatoes. They should last for a few months, probably into October.
