Atmospheric River Over Washington

in Actifityesterday

Went to work today where we had a three hour long nonstop meeting for all staff to tell us about the change from twenty percent in the office to fifty percent in the office.

Well they already had a Teams meeting yesterday to tell us that. So nothing new, but we had sat there like idiots for three hours about two hundred or more people...

Western Washington is experiencing atmospheric river phenomenon where it is really dumping rain nonstop. It already caused some flooding and this is expected to last until Friday evening.

We live up on the hill, so it doesn't affect us, but images on the news look pretty bad. Catastrophic flooding is expected in some areas so evaluations are underway. Here is one example below:

I didn't have any trouble getting to work because I took a light rail. It does work pretty well, except there is nowhere to park. My wife gave me a lift as she was driving our daughter to school and picked me up after work as she was picking her up.

So it works pretty good right now, and should work for next year and 2027, but after that she will be switching schools so I will have to figure out how to get to the train station and where to find parking.

Splinterlands season is getting close to completion, but the battles don't seem to be getting any easier. I also noticed competition is getting harder in tier three brawls.

SPS token is holding steady and seems to be disconnected from the general crypto market which is going up and down on alternating days or so it seems.

One thing that is good about us going back to the office is that I am getting back into my weight lifting routine and have access to a bunch of machines that I don't have in my home gym. But as there are more people in the building there is also more people in our office gym. Even at odd times there are people occupying the machines.

And I get my ten thousand steps much easier when I go to the office. Today almost fourteen thousand steps, those walks to and from the train add up quickly and I also walk the stairs up and down to our sixth floor.

Hive is trading in a very tight range and the chart doesn't look very exciting, gone are the pumps that we had earlier this year when Hive was pumping in the Korean markets.

But it doesn't really matter to me as I need some time to accumulate Hive. Right now I have just under twenty five thousand Hive and that is just not enough. I have been accumulating Hive for just around a year. Those who have been doing it for eight years are definitely in a much better position.

I probably need at least a few more years of Hive accumulation before the price is going to matter. I wonder where Hive is going to be in another five to seven years...

If we get some mainstream adoption the values of Hive and SPS can really explode. For now it is a good time to stack and get a larger stake in the platform.

Catastrophic flooding up here my friend.....
Just like you, we live up at a higher elevation where we are safe, at over 500 feet above sea level!😇
The Mrs works in town at an optical shop, and has water inside the business!🙄

Ouch, that is bad! They mostly reporting the flooding in King County, like Fall City, but it must be more widespread...

So very glad years ago we bought property in the foothills!😊
When we moved here 25 plus years ago, no one talked about flooding……🙄

Why the heck they needed 3 hours to tell just that there will be more office time?

The flooding reminds me some streets here that go heavy under water

Yeah... I think it was tire everyone out with BS for three hours then drop a turd in the last few minutes and run :)

Yikes, stay safe!

Yeah, I don't think we will be driving around much outside the trips to local stores and school and work obviously...

You know many years back when my wife and I were students, this Pike Place Market picture that you post, used to be one of our favorite spots to go to during a random weekend trip. We have been there many times, even with kids. Last time I was there just after the protest during Covid, I think summer of 2021 (?) and most of the downtown was boarded up. We almost cried looking at downtown.

I am glad, it seems like coming back.

It is coming back, but a lot of businesses are still boarded up... Pike Place Market and the area surrounding it including waterfront are the most tourist places, so the businesses there have survived or came back. The areas just up from this place are still pretty grim...

well then, that's no good! It was a beautiful downtown, and hate to use the word 'was'

Stay safe there. Good thing you could get to work without issues. It's no fun when the streets get flooded quickly as it happens in many parts of my city when it really rains hard. Your office has such a nice gym. 👍

Hive has been really down these past few.. wish it would somehow 🚀. I definitely have way less Hive than you. 😆 slow and steady.. 🤞

An advance happy weekend..

Thank you, yes that gym is great, no need to go to a paid gym anymore. I used to have LA Fitness membership for years, but after cancelling it during COVID I never need to go back. I consider my Hive accumulation also slow and steady...
