Last day on the island we had some fun which resulted in over nineteen thousand steps! We went for a nice long walk on a new beach that we had never visited before and collected more driftwood for the fort.
We added a whole new section to the fort though we were out of the pine branches so it is a skeleton fort for now. We also built a bench for her to sit on this time. She is so excited about her new alpaca and a fort that she is obsessing about it all the time 😀
The weather on the island was perfect! It felt like a really nice vacation, now we are back to Seattle area and will celebrate the new year with the rest of the family as is our tradition.
Today on the island we also visited Whidbey Island Distillery. We had a one hundred dollar gift certificate for the Whidbey Island Distillery so we went there and tasted both of their whiskeys as well as all three fruit alcoholic drinks they produce.
My wife also tried their old fashioned, but said that it was too sweet for her. But we did pick up their limited edition whiskey bottle that was a single barrel whiskey aged in an oak barrel for five years.
We also bought one of the ligonberry bottles that was super sweet and fruity, that one is for me.
After the Whidbey Island Distillery we went to Ultra Ramen which is our favorite Ramen place on the island. It is becoming something like a tradition for us to visit the Ramen place during our stay on Whidbey Island.
After that we also went to get a couple ice-cream in a waffle cone. Our daughter as always chose chocolate while we shared our favorite Huckleberry flavor.
