Today was a very beautiful day, perfect for a ferry ride to Whidbey Island. We visited one of our favorite seafood restaurants on the island where I had their house special seafood pasta and the ladies had Halibut fish and chips.
Parking situation in Langley was difficult, do I dropped off my wife in front of the Oyster House restaurant and we drove and parked a little ways away by the Inn at Langley which is currently closed for a major renovation.

While we were parking and walking my wife ordered us some appetizers and drinks. I was happy to discover that she ordered me an old-fashioned with Woodinville Whiskey Bourbon.
The ladies had a cherry lemonade for our daughter and some non alcoholic cocktail for my wife. We had a great time there and I was so relaxed that I took a wrong turn and got us on a scenic route around the island which added about fifteen minutes to our drive, but ladies were a really good spot about it and didn't give me hard time.

As always when we visit the island the steps just somehow add up to over ten thousand steps without me having to think about it at all.
What is also amazing is that today is a great day weather wise and totally feels like spring and yesterday it was snowing and looked like this:

Weather is very different this time of the year in Seattle area. I do prefer sunny days like today though. We also had great time playing with the cabin we built in our front yard:

I was helping our daughter collect various ingredients for her "stew" and she had a great time making it in one of my Home Depot orange buckets.
It feels great to be able to do this simple things and take my mind off all the worrisome things that are going on around the world right now. The news are definitely sounding pretty bad with no changes in Russia Ukraine war and with escalating conflict in the Middle East.

I would rather be making a stew with my daughter and drinking Bourbon than to think about all the stuff we have no control over...
