Finally a nice and relaxing day at Whidbey Island with a family. We decided not to chance the ferry on a sunny Friday so we chose a two and a half hour drive through the Deception Pass.
There was quite a bit of traffic on the freeway even at around one PM. But at least we knew exactly how long it would take as opposed to a potential three hour wait in the ferry car line.

We arrived in Coupville and parked a little ways away from the main waterfront street called Front Street. We decided to try a new restaurant for us called Front Street Grill.
This restaurant had really good reviews, though I had some doubts about it as I was afraid that it could be a tourist trap. We tried booking it in the morning but no reservations were available anymore.

Still we decided to take the chance and walked up to the restaurant and asked about a table for three people. They said sure if we can wait fifteen minutes. That was totally acceptable to us and we went to a nearby shop to look for a souvenir type present.
As we were paying for the purchase we got a text saying that our table is ready. I don't think it was fifteen minutes even! Their drinks and food turned out to be totally delicious.

I have ordered Spicy Seafood Pasta and wife ordered Waigu Burger and our daughter went for Calamari. All three entries were delicious.
My Seafood pasta had shrimp, clams, oysters, fresh fish, calamari and it had a really nice spicy curry sauce. It was also a lot more affordable compared to Seattle area restaurants.

After the restaurant we stopped by a European food store, but didn't find anything worth buying there this time around. So we got in our car and drove to our place.
We played a little in the little tree house we built from driftwood and then started the prep for a fire on the ocean shore. The fire was awesome, except when we we a few minutes away from going back to the house the sprinklers came on and totally got us.

And finally it was time to test out for the first time the sauna my wife got me for my fifties birthday. The sauna was totally awesome! I have been really missing it for the laat six years!
