First Tracks!😅
As the summertime rains stop, the Big Leaf Maples start dropping their leaves!
No my friends, it’s not Fall, this is just the way these trees are able to conserve moisture!😊
Already we are seeing “Mandatory water restrictions” in town………………
The lack of rain certainly hasn’t stopped the weeds and underbrush from growing!🙄
Just look at the second and third photo, you can just barely see the trail!
Further up the same trail, I took the next two photos……………….
“Silvertop I can’t see the trail at all!!😳
This is bad, this is one of Silvertop’s favorite trails, the “High Trail”!😊
I have been hiking the Gold Mine trail recently, and nature was trying to reclaim this Trail!😮
“Silvertop, why don’t you drive your truck up as far as you can, and then hike up the steep hill with our gasoline weed eater!”🥰
That sounded like a plan!😇
One half mile up this gravel road was as far as my two wheel drive truck could go…………..
I pulled off to the side and unloaded my weed eater!😊
Hiking up the steep hill was never difficult before, but carrying the extra weight of the weed eater had me thinking of stopping and taking a break!
Just a little more I told myself…………….
Finally I made it to the top!🥵
Hours went by as I slashed through thick ferns and underbrush!😅
“Silvertop, do you realize that they sell the ferns that you are weeding at stores in town for a high price!”🥰
Yep………..😇
I kept weed whacking……….
Finally I broke through to Keith’s manicured network of trials!🤗
It was like being in a park, after hours of hot work!
Just up ahead was “Towhee Ridge” complete with a picnic table situated on the elevated deck!😊
Was all the hard work worth it today…….Absolutely!🤗
