“ Soaring on the wind!”🤗
“Look Liz, over there an Eagle!”😍
The birds don’t worry about hot Summer days, they just take flight!🤗
Down here on Terra firma we need to be a bit more creative!😇
Silvertop will tend to avoid open meadows, in favor of trails deep in the darkest sections of the forest!😊
They have a somewhat confusing term in the Pacific Northwest “Rain Shadow”!🤔
What this implies, is that the wind, and or rain, that passes over a mountainous area loses much of its moisture on the downwind, or Leeward side of the mountain.
It can be very muggy on the Western side of the Mountains, and much dryer on the Eastern side, on the same day!😊
“Soaring Eagles” trailhead is Silvertop’s escape from the Heat and Humidity, it sits on the Eastern side of Sumas Mountain!😇
It’s no wonder that we see more birds of prey soaring on the thermal’s on this Eastern side of the Mountain!☺️
“Silvertop…. You do know that isn’t an Eagle feather don’t you!”🥰
“Of course honey, and technically you aren’t allowed to take any bird of prey feathers from the forest by law!”😇
Apparently the only exception is if you are of Native American decent, like you and our kids honey!”😍
Silvertop will just leave that feather where it is…….….I’m just here for the view!☺️
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊

I have an Eagle feather given to me by an aboriginal stacker named 'Seduced-by-Silver'. You are correct regarding possession of Eagle feathers unless it is gifted by a member of the local nation.

Smart to hike on the east side with less humidity! I'm not sure I would know if I was looking at an eagle feather or turkey feather to be honest. lol But I love watching eagles and other birds of prey in flight!
Eagles are beautiful birds! In Colorado, we had Golden Eagles, which are huge birds!😊
The bald eagles tend to follow rivers and streams, looking for fish mostly but they are birds of pray that will eat just about anything!
