“Captain There Be Snow Up Ahead!”🥶
Well my friends, that was completely unexpected Lol!😇
As daylight started to filter through the trees this morning, Silvertop was thinking something looked “Off” in our backyard!🤔
Could it be that it snowed last night?
I walked over to one of our skylights, and sure enough the glass was covered with new fallen snow!😊
Not much, but definitely our first snowfall for the Year!
Weather can be very fickle in the Pacific Northwest………….
I dug up some of my photos from December of “Last Winter” to show you what Northwest Winters really look like!
The snow and cold came early last year…….
Keith, my neighbor that lives “off-grid” high up on a hilltop, at the end of our road, keeps his wood burning stove running 24/7 most years!🥶
Last year he was concerned about running out of firewood!😮
“Silvertop, how are you for firewood?”….. he asked me…….
“Keith, I have 17 cords split and stacked…I’m good!”👍
“Well….. I will need to keep you, and your wood in mind, if I run out Lol!”😇
Keith doesn’t need to cut wood, he enjoys working!
He is a very successful retired CEO of WoodStone Pizza Ovens…..
You would never know it………
Most days he is working outside, running his chainsaw, or he’s on a tractor, or excavator!😅
We are of different Worlds, yet we are the same!
“Silvertop…. We are just “Hill People Lol!”
Hmmm…… I’m not sure I would have used that term, but we definitely both have a love for the Mountains!😊😇
To close today I wanted to show you exactly how fickle the weather can be in the Pacific Northwest………
Today is January 7………….
Last year, after all the deep snow we received in December, Liz and Silvertop ventured out for a hike together.😍
The last photo, from last year’s Winter is time stamped January 6!😇
Just like that……. Last Winter, all the snow was gone!
Enjoy Winter if you can, it won’t last long Lol!😊
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊
