“Low Entropy” ……. What the heck is this, and are Trezor, and Ledger wallets at risk as well!😬
Twitter/X has been a buzz for the last two days, with post after post about thousands of Bitcoin wallets being drained!😮
How could this happen?…………………..
Silvertop opened his Trezor Suite browser app cautiously……………..
I was almost afraid to check my Bitcoin wallet balance!🙄
Once again AI can be counted on to quickly evaluate a serious situation like this!
“Silvertop………. Here’s the latest understanding:* Investigators believe many victims created their own seed phrases using too few dice rolls or otherwise insufficient randomness. That dramatically reduced the number of possible seed combinations, making them searchable by attackers.
- There is no confirmed vulnerability showing that a standard COLDCARD-generated seed can be recovered or brute-forced.
- Community members have been urging anyone who used manually generated entropy or custom seed-generation methods to move funds to a newly generated wallet immediately!”
Many in the Crypto community are urging Cold Storage wallet holders to consider adding a “pass phrase”, or switch to “Multi Sig” wallets!
Above all, if you still hold BTC on a Cold Card wallet that potentially could be compromised, move your funds off of that wallet, to a new wallet or an exchange as soon as possible!
Trezor, and Ledger were quick to respond, letting everyone know that both wallet manufacturers used multiple sources for the randomness for the generation of their seed words!

Silvertop was considering a Cold Card wallet at one time, but for me, the fact that I HODL other “Alt” Coins, it didn’t make sense to buy a Cold Card that was Bitcoin only……..
I am very relieved!…………..😅
My heart goes out to those that have lost their Bitcoin, especially when everyone believed that their BTC was safety in “Cold Storage off line!🙄
Currently the stolen BTC is consolidated in a specific wallet.
No BTC has moved to a mixer, or an exchange…… just yet!😅
The one benefit of BTC’s blockchain is every transaction is public……………
Hopefully someone can track this hacker down, as soon as they try to move funds!😇
