I have split Fir often, I think what was different about this particular tree, is that we are in summer and the sap is up the tree!!
It's extremely spongy, extremely wet, almost dripping!๐ณ
Ah, yes, that would certainly make a difference. Knotty and dripping with sap probably isn't the best combo! ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
I managed to bring home another Cord of firewood to add to our ever-growing stack of firewood Lol!!๐
