Christmas has arrived at my house, and my children know I'll start decorating when I put on my various Venezuelan gaita records at full volume. Between tidying up and decorating, and then cleaning the whole house, we listen to Christmas music all day long to fill ourselves with the joy that this beautiful time of year brings.
En mi hogar ya llegó la Navidad y mis hijos saben que empezaré a decorar cuando coloco a todo volumen mis variados discos de gaitas venezolanas. Entre ordenar y decorar para después limpiar toda la casa, escuchamos todo el día música navideña para contagiarnos de la alegría que depara esta hermosa fecha del año.
For me, December is one of the most beautiful times of the year, and that's why it's customary for gaita music to start playing in every Venezuelan home around this time, especially at the beginning of November. Venezuelans love a good party, and these songs invite us to share with family, wishing everyone good vibes.
Para mí diciembre es una de las épocas más bonitas del año y por eso es costumbre que en cada hogar de Venezuela se empiecen a escuchar gaitas en estas fechas pero sobre todo empezando el mes de noviembre. A los venezolanos nos encanta un bochinche y estas canciones nos invitan a compartir en familia deseando buenas vibras a todos.
Each song I'm sharing with you today is one of my favorite gaita songs, songs that have become anthems and a tradition to listen to throughout this holiday season. I love them, and they bring back such wonderful memories of spending time with my family and preparing hallacas, where everyone had their assigned task.
Cada canción que les traigo hoy son mis gaitas favoritas y son las canciones que se han vuelto un himno y una tradición para oírlas durante toda esta temporada decembrina. A mí me encantan y me traen tan buenos recuerdos compartiendo en familia y preparando las hallacas donde cada uno tenía su tarea asignada para la preparación.
And this last one I'm sharing is also one of my favorites, one I listen to most often because I love to dance to it, and it fills me with so much joy. I'm a huge fan of Maracaibo 15; they're one of the best Venezuelan bands out there.
Y esta última que les comparto es también otra de mis favoritas, una de las que más escucho porque me encanta bailarla y me contagia de mucha alegría. Soy muy fan de Maracaibo 15, es una de las mejores agrupaciones venezolanas que existen.
