For this week #threetunetuesday challenge I selected three more tracks of the Russian rock-band Leningrad. Lets continue and develop the acquaintance! Two of the tracks are from pretty old recording 'The Bread', that date back to 2005. This record is considered a bit "lost" in band's back catalog, there are no big, national-wide hits that the public is eager to hear at every concert. However! this is a very good album, where the group demonstrated it is capable of a very tough, truly rock sound.
Ленинград - Гитара
I'd say this song lacks any deep meaning, but filled to the brim with energy and vibe. All of it, actually, is built around a musical quote stolen from the Soviet film "The Hound of the Baskervilles" - but still it's a joy to listen to!
Ленинград - Нефть
Track from same album, 'Oil' is quite minimalist, lapidary, poetic, metaphorical... and inspires different people for various things. For example, the author of an unofficial video clip saw here a perfect soundtrack to an action movie with deadly car races. Another (forgot the name who exactly it was) noticed the song to be the real anthem of modern Putin's Russia; literally: this music is a perfect match for playing at official events and so on.
Ленинград - Золото
This expensive promo-video was produced by Ilya Naishuller - his impressive clip to the song 'Tattoo artist' I already presented to you. This isnt a great song for me, but I did like the video. It tells us a thrilling story about very special and dangerous woman that was obsessed with gold a bit too much. Hope you will enjoy the story - the song hints that all women are a bit like that. beware!
I hope you enjoyed today's music selection, and travelling around the globe without leaving the Hive. 😎 The post goes for Three Tune Tuesday challenge run by @ablaze.
