After a pretty rough passage, we finally arrive from Sukoi Bay and can get some rest in Seldovia's port...

Nach einer ziemlich rauen Überfahrt kommen wir endlich aus der Sukoi-Bucht an und können uns im Hafen von Seldovia ausruhen...
As we finished docking, other sailors told us about a summer music festival happening in town. We'd missed that evening's events, but they said it would continue tomorrow from 4pm to 6pm. Which made sense as the harbour was packed with other sailors for this small event.

Während wir festmachten, erzählten uns andere Segler von einem Sommer-Musikfestival in der Stadt. Die heutige Abendveranstaltung hatten wir verpasst, aber morgen würde es von 16 bis 18 Uhr weitergehen. Jetzt ergab all die Aktivität und die vielen Boote plötzlich Sinn - wir wussten endlich, warum der Hafen so belebt war!
The next morning was lovely - not too cold and not too warm, it was sunday so we did our service there and met some lovely people.

Der nächste Morgen war herrlich—weder zu kalt noch zu warm. Da Sonntag war, hielten wir unseren Gottesdienst dort und trafen einige bezaubernde Menschen.
After church we walked around town, it was quite amazing to see so many tourists but it was the best time to do so as it was perfect weather for walking - as everyone knows, time flies especially when you're having fun.

Nach dem Gottesdienst bummelten wir durch die Stadt. Es war erstaunlich, so viele Touristen zu sehen, aber es war die beste Zeit dafür - das Wetter war perfekt zum Spazieren. Wie jeder weiß: Die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug, wenn man Spaß hat!
It was finally time for the festival and people were already getting ready:

Endlich war es Zeit für das Festival! Die Leute waren schon voller Vorfreude und bereiteten alles für die Abendveranstaltung vor—man konnte die Energie förmlich spüren.
This festival had a unique twist as the band would be playing on a small dock which can be seen in the white circle on the image. People with bigger boats (such as landing-crafts and dingies) were already getting their spots and anchoring to secure their spot, but - small paddle-boards and kayaks would come and get even closer to the band as they played...

Dieses Festival hatte eine besondere Note—die Band spielte auf einem kleinen Steg (im weißen Kreis auf dem Bild zu sehen). Während einige schon früh Plätze sicherten und Anker warfen, paddelten andere auf Stand-up-Boards und Kajaks immer näher an die Musiker heran...
This was already an hour into the festival and it was packed with kids and couples kayaking or paddling to find their spot, once again it was sad to leave such a community - we had great fun but sadly as sailors we always have to leave a spot.

Schon eine Stunde nach Festivalbeginn wimmelte es nur so von Kindern und Pärchen in Kajaks, die sich ihre perfekten Plätze suchten. Wieder einmal spürten wir diese typische Seefahrer-Wehmut: So sehr wir die Gemeinschaft genossen, so schwer es auch fiel - als Segler muss man immer weiterziehen...
