About 2 weeks ago I announced that I was going to rent an office to have a new professional space to take my work to the next level and in these two weeks many things have happened so I want to give you an update and tell you everything we have done so far!
This is how we saw the office for the first time an empty space with a lot of potential that needed a few repairs to start.
Hace 2 semanas aproximadamente anuncié que iba a rentar una oficina para poder tener un nuevo espacio que fuera profesional para poder llevar mi trabajo al siguiente nivel y en estas dos semanas han pasado muchas cosas asi que quiero hacerles una actualizacion y contarles todo lo que hemos hecho hasta ahora!
Asi fue como vimos la oficina por primera vez, un espacio vacio con mucho potencial que necesitaba unos cuantos arreglos para comenzar:
So the first thing we did was bring in a mason to make repairs to the wall.
So lo primero que hicimos fue traer a un albañil para que le hiciera los arreglos a la pared:
Another thing I also had to do was go to the offices of the electric service company in my city to pay the debt that the office had pending so the company could reconnect the electric service to the office.
We also had to bring in a specialized air conditioning technician to perform the respective maintenance on the air console and be able to start everything in the best conditions.
Otra cosa que tambien tuve que hacer fué ir a las oficinas de la empresa de servicio electrico en mi ciudad para pagar la deuda que la oficina tenia pendiente y que la empresa pudiera hacer la reconexion del servicio electrico a la oficina.
Tambien tuvimos que traer a un técnico especializado de aire acondicionados para que le hiciera el respectivo mantenimiento a la consola del aire y poder empezar todo en las mejores condiciones.
All the things done up to this point were actually the responsibility of the office owner but the gentleman lives in another city so he left me the keys to the office so I could do all these things to be able to hand over the office in good condition it is worth clarifying that I paid for all these things out of my pocket and then notified the owner how much everything was and then he returned the money for electricity the other money we deducted from the payment of requirements at the time of signing the contract.
After doing all that the office was finally in good condition and ready to be rented so we set a date and time to sign the lease.
Todas las cosas hechas hasta este punto realmente eran responsabilidad del dueño de la oficina pero el señor vive en otra ciudad entonces me dejó ami las llaves de la oficina para que yo hiciera todo estas cosas para poder entregarme la oficina en buen estado, vale la pena aclarar que todas estas cosas las pagué yo de mi bolsillo y luego le notificaba al dueño cuanto era todo y luego el me devolvio el dinero de la electricidad, el otro dinero lo descontamos del pago de los requerimientos al momento de firmar el contrato.
Luego de hacer todo eso la oficina ya estaba finalmente en buenas condiciones y lista para poder ser alquilada asi que pautamos una fecha y hora para firmar el contrato de arrendamiento:
Once the contract was signed we were ready to equip the office I remember that the first thing we did was measure the window space to know how many curtains we had to buy.
Una vez firmado el contrato ya estabamos listos para poder equipar la oficina, recuerdo que lo primero que hicimos fue medir el espacio de las ventanas para poder saber cuantas cortinas teniamos que comprar:
That same day we went to a shopping mall to look for them and ask in several places in the end we ended up finding the curtains for 10$ each.
Ese mismo dia fuimos a un centro comercial a buscarlas y preguntar en varios sitios, al final terminamos encontrando las cortinas a 10$ cada una:
And we had to buy 22 curtains being an expense of 220$ we already have them but currently I have not yet been able to install them.
Y tuvimos que comprar 22 cortinas, siendo un gasto de 220$, ya las tenemos pero actualmente aun no las he podido instalar.
The next day what we did was make the move we had to pick up all the things from the previous "studio" (which was the living room of an aunt's apartment) and take everything to the new space!
Al dia siguiente lo que hicimos fue hacer la mudanza, teniamos que recoger todas las cosas del "estudio" anterior (que era la sala del apartamento de una tia) y llevar todo al nuevo espacio!
We managed to take all the things in my car in 1 single trip literally not even one more hair would fit!
Logramos llevar todas las cosas en mi carro en 1 solo viaje, literalmente no le cabia ni 1 pelo mas!
In the next photo I was opening the office to officially start bringing in the first things and set up the new photography studio!
En la siguiente foto estaba abriendo la oficina para oficialmente empezar a entrar las primeras cositas y armar el nuevo estudio de fotografia!
The old space we had as a studio was very small and this new space is very large so when bringing all the things we realized that the space looked very empty and besides that there were very essential things we needed such as a small table a rack for customers' clothes and even a water dispenser so we ran to a shopping mall to buy these things that were essential to offer a good service in the studio.
I found a rack for clothes for only 18$ so I did not hesitate and bought it there were two models and I chose one.
El antiguo espacio que teniamos como estudio era muy pequeño y este nuevo espacio es muy grande asi que al traer todas las cosas nos dimos cuenta de que el espacio se veia muy vacio y ademas de eso habian cosas muy esenciales que nos hacian falta, como una mesita, un rack para la ropa de los clientes, e incluso un dispensario de agua, asi que nos fuimos corriendo a un centro comercial a compra estas cosas que eran esenciales para poder ofrecer un buen servicio en el estudio.
Conseguí un rack para la ropa por tan solo 18$ asi que no lo dudé y lo compre, habian dos modelos y escogí uno:
This small table for 15$ was the most economical we could find.
Esta pequeña mesa por 15$ fue lo mas economico que pudimos encontrar:
We also bought this kitchen cart for 30$ we needed it to be able to set up the water tea and coffee station.
Tambien compramos este carrito de cocina por 30$ lo necesitabamos para poder poner la estacion del agua, té y café:
Another thing we also bought was an electric water kettle for 15$ to be able to offer customers coffee and tea.
Otra cosa que tambien compramos fue un hervidor de agua electrico por 15$ para poder ofrecerles a los clientes el café y té:
In the process we also asked the prices of chairs tables furniture etc and I was surprised how EXPENSIVE all that is and as I have a limited budget the best we could think of was to take chairs tables and furniture from my house to the studio to complete what was needed with that in mind we went straight to the studio to finish setting up the studio.
It is worth noting that at this point we were doing everything "against the clock" because we had a client the next day and we had to have everything ready to serve the client and be able to offer a good and comfortable service.
So yes this was a very long day of bringing all the things buying what was needed assembling everything and then bringing even more things from my house to the studio but absolutely everything was worth it because that night this is how the studio looked.
En el proceso tambien preguntalos los precios de las sillas, mesas, muebleria etc y me sorprendió lo CARO que es todo eso y como tengo un presupuesto limitado lo mejor que pudimos pensar fue llevarnos al estudio sillas, mesas y muebleria de mi casa para completar lo que haga falta, con eso en mente nos fuimos directo al estudio a terminar de armar el estudio.
Vale la pena resaltar que en este punto estabamos haciendo todo " a contra reloj" porque teniamos un cliente al dia siguiente y teniamos que tener todo listo para poder atender a la cliente y poder ofrecerle un servicio bueno y comodo.
Asi que si, este fué un dia muy largo de traer todas las cosas, comprar lo que hacia falta, armar todo y luego traer incluso mas cosas desde mi casa hasta el estudio pero absolutamente todo valió la pena porque esa noche asi se terminó viendo el estudio:

Para el fondo sigo usando una tela, pero pronto será un fondo infinito (un set de estudio más profesional):

This is how it looks from the set to the front I brought those two pieces of furniture from my house and put a fabric on top as decoration.
Asi es como se vé desde el set hacia enfrente, esos dos muebles los traje de mi casa y le puse una tela encima como decoracion:
There is also a space that will be used as an office I brought furniture and a desk from my house for now it is empty but soon I plan to put a laptop to edit and work from here and any other things I need.
Tambien hay un espacio que será usado como oficina, traje una muebleria y un escritorio de mi casa, por ahora está vacio pero pronto planeo poner una laptop para editar y trabajar desde aqui y alguna que otra cosa que necesite:
And to one side of the office there is a small space that we will use as a "kitchen" but actually everything will be electric there I currently have the coffee maker the electric water kettle the glasses etc.
y a un lado de la oficina hay un espacio pequeño que usaremos como "cocina" pero realmente todo será electrico, allí tengo actualmente la cafetera, la hervidora de agua electrica, los vasos etc:
This is version number 1 of the photography studio this is how we managed to set it up and have it ready in record time to serve the first clients obviously I have my eyes on the goal of improving the studio and making it look more and more professional and offering a better service to my clients.
Short-term goals:
- Install curtains.
- Buy all the materials to build the infinite background.
The next day we did the first photo session in the studio.
Esta es la version numero 1 del estudio de fotografia, asi fue como logramos armarlo y tenerlo listo en tiempo record para poder atender a los primeros clientes, obviamente tengo los ojos puestos en el objetivo de poder mejorar el estudio y que cada vez se vea mas profesional y poder ofrecer un mejor servicio a mis clientes.
Objetivos a corto plazo:
- Instalar las cortinas.
- Comprar todos los materiales para construir el fondo infinito.
Al dia siguiente hicimos la primera sesion de fotos en el estudio:
And I must tell you that it felt amazing! as the space is wider it is much more comfortable for me and for the clients there is an elevator so people do not arrive sweating at the studio and there is also air conditioning which is very important because the girls always come wearing makeup and if they sweat they lose their makeup.
And not only that the first clients when entering said wow how beautiful and believe me that filled my heart very much because this has all my love and yours too!
Up to this point only the workers and the previous client had known the studio it was still "secret" because my birthday was the next day March 07 and I wanted to celebrate my birthday in the studio as I told my girlfriend all my attention intention and heart is currently in the studio so it was the perfect time to celebrate my birthday there and at the same time do the "opening" so my closest loved ones would know it.
Y debo decirles que se sintió increible! como el espacio es mas amplio es mucho mas comodo para mi y para los clientes, hay ascensor asi que las personas no llegan sudando al estudio y tambien hay aire acondicionado, lo que es muy importante porque las chicas siempre vienen maquilladas y si sudan pierden el maquillaje.
Y no solo eso, los primeros clientes al entrar dijeron wow que bonito y creanme que eso me llenó muchisimo el corazon porque esto tiene todo el amor mio y el de ustedes tambien!!
Hasta este punto solo los trabajadores y el anterior cliente habia conocido el estudio, aun seguia siendo "secreto" pues mi cumpleaño era el dia siguiente, el 07 de marzo y quise celebrar mi cumpleaños en el estudio pues como le dije a mi novia, toda mi atencion, intencion y corazon está en estos momentos en el estudio asi que era el momento perfecto de celebrar mi cumpleaños alli y al mismo tiempo hacer la "inaguracion" para que mis personas queridas mas cercanas lo conocieran.
We ate Mexican nachos that my girlfriend prepared we talked for a long time and then I took some photos with everyone and then sang the birthday song.
Comimos nachos mexicanos que mi novia preparó, hablamos durante un buen rato y despues me hice unas fotos con todos para luego cantar el cumpleaños:
My girlfriend even brought our cat so he would impregnate the best of energies in the place!
Mi novia incluso trajo a nuestro gato para que el impregnara las mejores de las energias en el lugar!
Between laughs and jokes I ended up realizing something: basically this was my birthday gift from all of you from all of those who helped me make this dream come true and all of those who have supported this path literally the best birthday gift of all.
That night everyone left and we immediately cleaned the place and left it impeccable and ready for the next photo session which was two days later in this case for a tattoo artist guy.
Entre risas y bromas, terminé dandome cuenta de algo: basicamente este era mi regalo de cumpleaños de parte de todos ustedes, de parte de todos los que me ayudaron a hacer este sueño realidad y de todos los que han apoyado este camino, literalmente el mejor regalo de cumpleaños de todos.
Esa noche todos se fueron e inmediatamente limpiamos el lugar y lo dejamos impecable y listo para las siguiente sesion de fotos que fué a los dos dias, en este caso para un chico tatuador:
And at the end of the photo session we had the respective coffee that we always offer to all our customers and to those who do not drink coffee we offer tea.
Y al finalizar la sesion de fotos nos tomamos el respectivo café que siempre le ofrecemos a todos nuestros clientes y a los que no toman café les ofrecemos té:
A few days later we bought a plant because we realized that the place lacked a bit more life more green hahaha so we bought this palm and it looks beautiful I still need to buy an aesthetic pot for it.
A los dias compramos una planta porque nos dimos cuenta de que al lugar le falta un poco mas de vida, de verde jajaja asi que compramos esta palma y se ve preciosa, aun me hace falta comprarle un matero que sea estetico:

They have been very busy days but I am already returning to normalcy and thank God this month I already have quite a few photo sessions scheduled enough to cover next month's rent and that believe me is a blessing I am very grateful!
Han sido dias muy movidos pero ya voy regresando a la normalidad y gracias a Dios este mes ya tengo agendadas bastantes sesiones de fotos, suficiente para cubrir el alquiler del mes siguiente y eso creanme que es una bendicion, estoy muy agradecido!
And what is coming for the future is to build the infinite background I want to make it movable for greater comfort and better use of resources I already have the plan but I have not yet bought the materials because I lack a little money and because I have not been able to find the person to help me do it I am waiting for two relatives to have a little time to join the project.
Y lo que viene para el futuro es construir el fondo infinito, lo quiero hacer movible para mayor comodidad y mejor uso de los recursos, ya tengo el plano pero aun no he comprado los materiales porque falta un poco de dinero y porque tampoco he podido conseguir a la persona que me ayude a hacerlo, estoy esperando que dos familiares tengan un poco de tiempo para poder unirse al proyecto:

Estoy muy agradecido por todo el apoyo que me han dado y porque han ayudado a volver este sueño realidad pero aun necesito fondos para construir el fondo profesional y seguir equipando el estudio con cosas que se necesitan y pagar el prestamo que pedí para poder dar la inicial del alquiler, así que si pueden ayudarme a completar la recoleccion de fondos estaré agradecido de por vida.
