Lifeguard towers here and there
Good Morning, I hope life is treating you well
Toda,y I will share a few shots of Lifeguard towers at a few beaches around the area where I live
Whenever I see a lifeguard tower on a beach, I find I have to take a photo of it. I guess you could say I am fascinated by them, and I can explain why, but first let me start with a photo
THis one is on East Beach here in New Bedford a very popular beach in summer, I have driven by it a couple of times on a nice summer weekend and seen it packed, but sadly more often when I visit it early morning i see all the trash people have left behind, which does annoy me, people go to a beach because its such a nice beautiful spot, why leaveit in worse shape leaving their trash when they leave.
BUt lets focus more ofn the beauty of nature for this post

This next one is on Jones Beach in Dartmouth, a neighboring town
Now perhaps why I am fascinated by them in my Teens, I did work for one, maybe two seasons as a lifeguard.
How that came to be, I was big into Rugby at the time and used to get up early, even back then, around 4 AM, get on my bike and ride to the local beach about a 3 Mile ride I think, then, run along the coast about 2 or 3 miles out and back, and then finish off with a swim along the coast, normally half a mile or so and back, and then head home and be back in before the rest of the family were up
But as it happened, one morning when I was doing this routine, I biked to a different spot on the beach and ended up swimming past a group swimming along together, and they came out of the water near to where I did, and one of them came over to talk to me
He was the head lifeguard and they were out training, and he said he saw I had been running and then swimming and seemed quite fit and talked me into volunteering as a lifeguard, which I did and enjoyed for a couple of seasons
