#Mono Monday a few recent shots
Good Morning another work week begins and may it be a good one for you
And someone asked last week why I call them Monochrome and not Black and white so whats the difference
In photography, "monochrome" refers to images using a single color with varying tones, while "black and white" specifically uses shades of gray from black to white. Therefore, all black and white images are monochrome, but not all monochrome images are black and white. Black and white is a subset of monochrome, often referred to as grayscale
Now most of these are either black and white or Sepia tones to give an aged feel, but I often do different shades of color depending on the image, Blues sometimes sometimes other shades, but I often do them very subtely so I can understand soem not noticing the slight different shades
THis past week has been fairly good for photos that work well with mono edits as it has been very foggy, misty and grey most mornings, well with the exception of yesterday which was nicer.
The grey days sometimes can look cool edited in color but most work better for mono edits
Such as this firts shot taking by the boat ramp at the end of Giofford Street here in New Bedford with the hurricae barrier wall in the background, in color it looked quite dull but with a mono edit and brightening up the walking out by the boat ramp I find it pops more

And onthe Harbor walk again for this next shot, this particular morning it was a challenge to get photos both because it was rather dull, but also because it was pretty warm with a real feel of 85 and humidity of 98% and thta was at 5AM ish, both my glasses and camera lens kept quickly fogging/misting up
