Angel of the Morning: Juice Newton - My musical choice of the day and Rising Star Statistics

Good evening everyone!

In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Strangers In The Night from the legendary artist Frank Sinatra.

Angel of the Morning: Juice Newton

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Angel of the Morning from the artist Juice Newton.

On this occasion, I am going to bring another example of the importance of video games when it comes to presenting musical works, whether to accompany their atmosphere, their menus, or to give a more epic touch to some of the cinematics. I can highlight several games in which I have encountered all these examples. For a soundtrack that complements the atmosphere, I can highlight Bloodborne, Kingdom Come Deliverance, and The Witcher, which have soundtracks that fit very well with what the game is trying to represent. I think the best example I can give for a menu is the iconic song from Age of Empires II, while for epic scenes, not so many come to mind, but I have managed to remember songs by Nirvana in games such as Infamous or the legendary song I Don't Want to Miss a Thing in the introduction to Saints Row IV.

So far, I've mentioned a bunch of video games that support my theory. But I haven't finished telling you about what I consider to be one of the most important ones. It's my favorite game in the Grand Theft Auto series, the legendary San Andreas. The game features a wide variety of radio stations that play music from the 80s and 90s, the time period in which the video game takes place.

The main radio stations are Hip-Hop, which perfectly represented the atmosphere on the streets of Los Santos, while in rural areas you could listen to my favorite station in the whole game: K-Rose. This radio station played many hits from one of the most iconic genres in the United States: Country.

Thanks to this, I ended up discovering quite a few artists, which led me to research more songs by them that didn't appear in the game. I can assure you that I have the entire station in my Spotify “Likes,” because I think the Rockstar team did an excellent job with every song they chose for it. I discovered Jerry Reed, The Statler Brothers, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Merle Haggard, Eddie Rabbit, and finally Juice Newton.

Juice Newton has one of the most memorable songs from Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Queen of Hearts. This song ended up making me quite curious, so I ended up snooping around for more songs by the artist and ended up with my choice for today: Angel of The Morning.
